Mark Jones is one of the most sought-after Masters of Ceremonies and compères
in the UK; he's also one of the most experienced radio broadcasters on-air.
Currently at Radio City's Magic 1548 in Liverpool, after several very
successful years at 105.4 Century FM, the North West regional radio station.
Mark has won numerous awards, including one for hosting the Michael Jackson's
concert at Aintree Racecourse (the crowd numbered in excess of 125,000)
making it the "biggest solo concert in history" in the Guinness
Book of Records. Mark also reported "live" from Ground Zero
in Manhattan on September 11th 2001 in the aftermath of the World Trade
Center tragedy.
Sportsmen's dinners, award ceremonies and quiz host are just some of Mark's
specialist subjects; he has officiated as Master of Ceremonies/compère
at hundreds of functions throughout the UK and Europe; working with personal
heroes such as Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham, Frank Bruno, Jimmy Greaves,
Mike Atherton and Dewi Morris... he's also the host of CRUFTS 2004 at
The NEC in Birmingham!
Mark has presented pre-match entertainment on the pitch at numerous grounds
including Liverpool FC, Everton FC and Tranmere Rovers. Rugby too takes
its place for this avid sports fan. He's provided pre-match and half time
entertainment for World Club and Superleague champions St. Helens RLFC.
For the 2004 season, he's to be found with Leeds Rhinos on the pitch at
Headingley. Mark has also worked with Channel 4 and Sky Sports at all
the major cricket grounds, conducting pre-match interviews with legends
Ian Botham, Bob Willis, David "Bumble" Lloyd, David Gower and
Michael Holding before all the day/night matches, and one-day Internationals.
Mark's the regular compère for the Masters Football series (broadcast
live on Sky Sports).
