Being mistaken for a man would drive most women to despair - not so for Julie Carroll.
It happens almost every night, but rather than tears, it leaves her in stitches of laughter, "I suppose that being mistaken for a fella would offend a lot of girls", but gravel voiced Julie has learned to turn it to her advantage, and get the last laugh.
Laughs are Julie's business. Over the past fifteen years Julie has developed from a very talented singer into one of the most in demand comediennes in the the country. Whilst she is quite at home entertaining mixed audiences on Cruise Liners, in Social Clubs, Cabaret or Theatre, (where she has been billed alongside Ken Dodd, Bob Monkhouse, Vince Hill and many other top showbiz names). Julie really comes into a class of her own on Ladies nights, and in particular performing at all Ladies After Dinner Evenings. As you can see she is capable of entertaining and adapting to all types of situations.
Julie woos her audiences with her tremendous personality that simply oozes out when displaying her natural Lancashire sense of humour, guaranteed to leave any audience rolling in the aisles. This down to earth humour is mixed with some amusing interludes, which are quite unique to Julie, and involve short bursts of her amazing vocal range - is it a man or a woman? and then there's the involvement with the monkey!!
