| Duncan began his football career in 1968, joining Nottingham Forest FC as an 18 year old, making 105 league appearances. Following a loan spell at Mansfield, he was signed by Brian Clough for Leeds United 1974. | ||
| Duncan then went on to play for Anderlecht, gaining experience of teh European League before returning to English football where he joined Everton. | ||
| Joining Chelsea for a short time in 1978 preceded his transfer to the final club of his career, Blackburn Rovers, where he spent the 1979 - 80 season. | ||
