| David Kendall is York born & bred, a distinction he shares with Dame Judi Dench, Frankie Howard and Guy Fawkes, and is highly rated on the after dinner circuit for being a clean, witty and very entertaining speaker. |
| A former chorister in York Minster from 1950-55 the beginning of David's musical roots. |
| Upon leaving school he worked in a Chartered Accounts office before moving to the Sales department of the chocolate company, Rowntrees. During this five year period he played piano and guitar in a dance band and then in a cabaret group. |
| In 1965 he joined Barclays Bank and prior to his retirement in 1990 he was manager of the York University branch. He is well known on the after-dinner speaking circuit as "the bank manager from York" |
| His hobbies include music, both playing & listening, the theatre, cricket and both codes of Rugby. |
